This cat was in a sticky — and salty — situation.
The stray was found banging around the streets of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, with a mayo jar stuck on her head. She was first spied by Linda Ruggere, a neighborhood animal lover who does her best to look after the stray cats in the area.
“I saw this cat coming to eat and it had a mayo jar and I was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ and it ran away. The next day, I was literally able to get the mayo jar and try to get its head popped out and it ran away again,” she recounted to WNEP.

Ruggere, who was worried that the cat would get hit by a car or starve because of the jar, did not give up. With help from a local rescue group dedicated to humanely neutering and spaying stray cats, the imprisoned kitty, now named Miracle, was picked up and brought to Pittson Animal Hospital.
At the facility, Dr. Inayat Kathio was able to delicately remove the mayo jar from the cat’s head, allowing they feline to be released back into the world uninjured and finally able to eat. We’re guessing her first bite didn’t involve mayo.
