Lindsay Lohan continues to discover more about motherhood with each passing day.
PEOPLE caught up with the actress, 38, at the Kering Founding Caring for Women dinner in New York City on Monday, Sept. 9, where she opened up about her son Luai Shammas, whom she shares with husband Bader Shammas.
Lohan has not disclosed Luai’s exact birthday, but her publicist confirmed to PEOPLE that he was born in 2023. The actress threw a lavish car-themed 1st birthday party for him on July 17, 2024.

As Luai enters his second year, PEOPLE asked Lohan what life milestones she was looking forward to.
“I think every day is a milestone,” the new mom excitedly replied. “Every day I’m blown away and I’m excited.”
As previously reported, Luai was born and is being raised in Dubai. Luai is an Arabic name meaning “shield or protector.”
“I guess you would say it happened organically,” Lohan told Allure of how she ended up in the United Arab Emirates. “Dubai gives me that space to have my own vision of what I need to do next.”

Lohan’s list of upcoming projects includes reprising her role as Anna Coleman in the sequel to her 2003 film Freaky Friday, appropriately titled Freakier Friday. She and costar Jamie Lee Curtis have been documenting filming the sequel, which is set for a 2025 release, on social media.
At August’s D23 event, Lohan told PEOPLE she’d want to switch places with her son if she could. “Just to see — because he is, so pure and just so happy, just to see life through his eyes, every day. He’s just this beautiful bundle of joy. I can’t think of anything else,” she explained.
Lohan can also be seen in a holiday movie for Netflix titled Our Little Secret. The film is set to debut on the streamer on November 27, 2024.
