Affected Products in the February 2025 Wild Coast Raw Pet Food Alert:

The Washington State Department of Agriculture has issued a public health alert for certain Wild Coast Raw pet food products after tests confirmed the presence of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI or bird flu). Two cats from different households became severely ill and were euthanized after consuming the affected food.

The affected product details are as follows:

  • Product: Wild Coast Raw Boneless Free Range Chicken Formula
  • Lot Numbers: #22660 and #22664
  • Best By Date: December 2025

What should you do?

Pet owners are urged to check their packaging for these lot numbers. Pets infected with bird flu may show symptoms such as fever, lethargy, loss of appetite, eye inflammation, nasal discharge, breathing difficulties, or neurological issues like tremors and seizures.

While no human cases have been linked to handling the product, exposure to the virus through the eyes, nose, or mouth is possible. Pet owners should monitor for symptoms like eye redness, cough, sore throat, fatigue, and gastrointestinal issues if exposed.
