I’m Recreating Meghan Markle’s Look with This $25 Linen Shirt

I love a great basic. That’s why Meghan Markle is my style inspiration. The Duchess of Sussex is known for her laidback yet sophisticated staples, one of them being a sleek linen button-down shirt. When the shirt arrived, the fabric was the first thing that caught my attention. Because it’s blended with rayon, it has a soft feel that you won’t find with 100 percent linen. In fact, I often think linen is scratchy, so this was a refreshing material. While there’s no stretch, that didn’t matter much to me because I sized up. Plus, the button-down is designed to have an oversized fit that’s forgiving.

In addition to the fit, I love how versatile the shirt is. Like I said, I love basics because you can style them in so many ways. I, of course, have worn it with a pair of ankle-length cuffed jeans à la the Duchess of Sussex, but because I went up two sizes, I’ve also worn it tied at the waist with a midi skirt or open and flowy over a pair of black linen pants. I plan to find even more ways to style it with every wear.
