Amid her ongoing treatment for stage 4 cancer, Teddi Mellencamp is consciously seeking out the highlights – literally.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 15, to crowdsource opinions from her 1.2 million followers about her blonde versus brunette wigs. Hundreds of supportive messages have since poured in.
“Two wigs, same level of exhaustion,” she wrote beneath side-by-side selfies modeling the two options, followed up with a measure of levity: “Which color would you prefer send you a 3-minute-long voice note?”
The 44-year-old was first diagnosed with melanoma, which metastasized to her brain and lungs. In April, the mother of three shared a glimmer of positive news online, writing that the tumors had “shrunk or disappeared,” with treatment.

In May, Mellencamp offered an additional update.
“Last time, they had checked solely my brain, and those tumors are shrinking. And then today I had the scan, where they checked my lungs and they are shrinking and one of them has shrunk so much you can barely even see it,” she said in an episode of her Two Ts In a Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge podcast, adding she’s set to undergo additional immunotherapy for the next two years.
