A tuxedo kitten was spotted wandering the streets without a mother in sight. He was in poor shape and taken to a pound where his fate became uncertain.

Despite being very small and fragile, the kitten never gave up. A group of volunteers reached out to local rescues and hoped to find him a chance at a better life.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a rescue in Montreal, Canada, learned about the kitten’s plight and immediately offered to help.

“We named him Binx. He was just skin and bones and weighed only 450 grams,” Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal told Love Meow.

They took the kitten to the vet to get him the medical attention he needed. “He threw himself on the food after his eyes and nose were cleaned. He was very hungry.”

Jess, a foster volunteer of the rescue, came to pick him up. When she held him in her arms, the little tuxedo nuzzled right in and started purring.

He was so happy to be loved that he went right to sleep.

With proper medical care and good nutrition, Binx started to put on weight and gain strength.

Despite having plenty of cat beds and soft things to nap on, he insisted on being on his foster mom’s lap for some much-needed TLC.

“Binx is full of energy and very playful. He’s always looking for a friend to play or cuddle with. He likes to talk and enjoys telling his humans about his day,” Celine shared with Love Meow.

“You always know where he is. He needs attention and to be close to his humans at all times.”

A few days ago, a family came to meet Binx. The tuxedo climbed onto their lap and decided to stay. Even with a feather toy in front of him, he would not leave the comfort of their lap.

That day, he had his dream come true when he went to his new home with his forever family.

“It is hard to imagine that he was so close to death’s door when he came to us. Now, he is thriving with a great future ahead of him,” Celine said.

Binx will never have to fend for himself on the streets another day. He adores his new family and enjoys being carried around in their arms.
