A kind-hearted woman from Montreal, Canada spotted a pair of kittens outside her home, without a mother in sight.

She looked around for other kittens but couldn’t find any. Hoping the mom would come back for her babies, she waited that afternoon while keeping an eye on the two kittens.

When night fell and the two little ones were still unclaimed and unattended, the kind lady decided to step in to help.

She put together a makeshift shelter and lined it with a blanket. She gave the kittens some water and food, which they quickly devoured. Still wishing for the mother’s return, she gave it a final try that night.

The next morning, the lady woke up to find the two bundles of fur huddled up together on the blanket. There was still no sign of the mother cat and no one in the neighborhood came forward for them. It was clear that the kittens had been left behind.

The homeowner scooped them up and brought them inside. She reached out to her local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, for help.

“The lady secured the kittens and gave them food and kept them warm before we took them into our care,” Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.

The feline brothers whom they named Sirius and Celestin, were so thrilled to be loved and cared for. They switched on their purr motors simultaneously when they were petted.

After a trip to the vet, the kittens embarked on a new journey as indoor cats with a loving foster family. “The kittens were a bit shy at first, but quickly became curious and started wanting to play,” Celine added.

“They completed the weaning process with the help of our foster volunteers, Manon and Anais.”

At six weeks old, the kittens wouldn’t be able to fend for themselves against the elements of the outdoors, especially the harsh Canadian winter. Thanks to the timely rescue, they will never have to endure that.

The two brothers have been inseparable since they stepped paw into their new abode. “They do everything together and won’t let each other out of eyesight. They are playful and adore other cats.”

The kittens are like two peas in a pod, and will seek each other out if they aren’t near.

“In the morning, they purr in bed with their humans and pounce around together as a duo. They crave attention and hugs and will immediately start purring when touched.”

Nap time is never alone for the two. They are often seen intertwined with each other in the cat tree or on top of one another in the comfort of their humans’ bed. “There’s not a moment that they are apart. They share an incredible bond.”

Not only do they look alike, but they also share similar personalties. Celestin is the leader of the two and the boss when it comes to food and toys. Sirius always lets him have his way and quietly follows in his footsteps.

Knowing how close they are, the rescue hopes to find them a home together. “The kittens are thriving and ready to find a loving family that will cherish both forever ,” Celine shared with Love Meow.
