Daughter Laughs It Off When Things Go Awry While Spreading Her Dad’s Ashes

A grieving daughter is finding humor in fulfilling her late father’s last wish.

A TikTok user shared a video on the social media platform earlier this month, in which her friend could be seen honoring her parent, despite the tribute not going exactly as planned.

At the start of the seconds-long clip, the friend pulls out her father’s ashes as she sits on a rock in a rushing river. But, as she places the ashes via spoon into the water, they stay in the same area.

After kicking her feet in a circle to try to get the remains to move, the woman gasps and raises her hand to her mouth in shock.

“Go, dad, go. This was such a bad idea,” she exclaims, before the camera pans to show another friend sitting close by and laughing on a different rock.

“Oh my God. That’s awful. This is really bad,” the daughter adds.

The user’s video included a text caption that read: “Does anybody know the right way to spread ashes because we clearly don’t.”

The caption, meanwhile, said: “🆘 Send help #cremation #ashes #darkhumor #Hiking #funnymoments #waterfall #sos #tennessee.”

Several TikTok users flooded the comments section to express their condolences — and join in on the joke.

“Even after death he didn’t wanna leave his little girl,” wrote one user, as another echoed the sentiment, stating, “They normally wash away with the water. I’d just say this is a sign he didn’t wanna leave u guys ❤️❤️.”

“He tryna chill with yall one last time and you literally kicked him out,” one other added. “Now he partially lives in your shoe♥️.”

Other TikTok users shared similar experiences as well.

“When we split my brothers ashes some of him got on the floor and my mom vacuumed him up,😂😭😭 talking bout ‘he’ll understand, he knows how I am,’ ” one user said.

Another added, “I was 5 when my grandfather passed. They scattered his ashes on a breeze and I ran through them. My mom cried that I was ‘wearing grandpa’ the whole way home.”

“We spread my aunt’s on the bank of a lake and a duck immediately came and ate her. No advice from me,” joked one more user.
