Texas Mom Who Welcomed Third Baby at 51 Is Open to Having More Children

News

Grace Collins isn’t sure if she’s done having children after welcoming her third baby at the age of 51.

The Texas mom went viral on TikTok in 2024 after revealing that she had gotten pregnant via IVF later in life. Her first child — a daughter named Maggie — was born when she was 44. Her second daughter Goldie followed two years later.

A.J., her first son, was born in 2024 after she got pregnant at 50. And now the mom of three isn’t ruling out the possibility of future pregnancies.

“It’s hard being pregnant no matter what age you’re at,” Collins told TODAY.com in an interview published April 4. “And I don’t know if I’m done either!”

She also noted that there were some benefits to getting pregnant at her age and that she felt better during her most recent pregnancy.

“Maybe my body just figured out how to cope, or maybe having children keeps me young,” Collins previously told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “I felt like I was more tired when I was pregnant at 44 than I was when I was 50.”

“My age helped me in the sense of being more in tune with my body, knowing that I have to be compliant with the doctors’ orders,” she added to Today.com. “It helps me be motivated to take better care of myself.”

As a mom of three in her 50s, Collins acknowledged that her schedule is always full. However, she’s embraced the busy life. “I’m a pretty on-the-go kind of girl,” she told the outlet. “I’ve been in the little kid daily grind since I was 44, so I don’t know any different.”

Collins noted that she doesn’t struggle bonding with other parents of young children despite there being an age gap, saying, “The things we have in common outweigh our age differences.”

“If anything, having kids has honestly kept me younger. I’m going to do everything I can to stay young and present — not just for my kids but for myself,” she added.

Back in 2024, Collins told PEOPLE that she took multiple steps to safeguard her health during her last pregnancy.

“I wouldn’t say [I entered into pregnancy with] hesitation — but a mindfulness toward it,” Collins told PEOPLE of her later in life pregnancies in August 2024.

“I made sure I had a healthy baseline such as getting a mammogram, colonoscopy, pap, echocardiogram, bloodwork, etc. I also made sure I was a healthy weight and active,” she said. “I have two other children and all my pregnancies have had their hurdles — but overall, I can honestly say it’s become easier with each pregnancy.”
